Mission statement

Templemichael College is proud to be a Longford, Westmeath Education and Training Board school that has been in Longford since 1983. You may ask what the ETB is and how is it relevant to your child’s education.

The ETB (formerly VEC) was originally set up in 1930’s to provide easy access to continuing education for Ireland’s young at a time when second level education was not the norm. The ETB prides itself on changing and growing with the needs of the county. This need is what led to the opening of Templemichael College.

Since opening our doors we have strived to provide both first class and relevant educational needs for each of our students. With our rich history, we are in a unique position to offer our students a wide range of subjects that will give your child the best chance of achieving their goals. Our curriculum includes academic subjects such as Mathematics, English, Irish, French, History, etc. but we also offer less widely available subjects such as Engineering, Woodwork, Metalwork, Technical Graphics and Home Economics.

Templemichael College also offers a wide range of subjects at third level.
