Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

As we enter the final 6 week term in Templemichael College for 2019-20 Year we find ourselves missing the daily interactions that take place in our learning environment. We are however encouraged and amazed by the diligence shown by our teachers and students at this time with their commitment to online learning. Our teachers are reporting some very good online practices from our students and continue to be impressed with the quantity, innovation and quality of work in this final term. This work will continue with our students as follows: 

• • 1^st, 2^nd and 5^th Years will continue with E-Learning with their teachers for the next 3 weeks. Following this we will enter an assessment period as is normal for the last term. Teachers are currently working on these assessments which may take the form of Open book examinations, Online Quizzes, Project Components and other means to best capture the strengths of our students. The details of the examinations and assessment will be issued to our students via their school email. Reporting will take place via Vsware in the usual way as a follow up to the Easter progress report already issued.   
  • 3^rd and 6^th Year students will continue with their curriculum up to the end of the school term. Further direction from the State Examinations and the Minister for Education will be forthcoming. When there is clearer direction we will communicate this to all examination candidates and their families. 

Further to this our teachers are processing an ongoing progress document to help identify students that are not engaging with the school at this time. School Guidance, Home School Liaison and School Completion Programme are available to reach out to students who have difficulty fulfilling their potential at this time with a view to helping and guiding their progress. The school has issued a questionnaire to all our students in relation to their experiences, difficulties and strengths of their online learning experiences. This information will feed into improving our practices in digital learning where necessary. 

In other school news our Home School Liaison Mr. McGee in conjunction with our School Completion Programme Office Mr. Shane Crossan continue to organize the School Meals Programme. Should you wish to contact them please email fmcgee.tcl@lwetb.ie

We will also be organizing some inter school activities with our fellow LWETB schools including Chess, Public Speaking, Performance and some sporting challenges to encourage participation for all our talented students.
